Production Superintendent

Shift Hours: 45 hours minimum per week.

Summary / General Description:

Direct and oversee Manufacturing processes at a single plant multi-shift operation with up to 50 direct reports. Working under management guidance, schedules work, assists with employee selection, scheduling, training, reviews employee performance, administers work rules and recommends compensation. Monitors and evaluates workflow and makes recommendations for process improvements. Ensures that manufacturing performance and quality goals are met.

Reports to: General Manager

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Responsible for productivity and quality
• Recommends equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, process modifications and may recommend product or service modifications.
• Meet production and customer requirements by managing all plant resources, including machines and personnel.
• Track and achieve company goals related to areas of responsibility. e. on time delivery, production efficiency, and indirect labor.
• Utilize and drive "5S & Lean" tools to enhance production floor efficiency.
• Manage constraints by Identifying and removing production limitations on resource capacity and personal
• Work with all personnel for quality, productivity and delivery.
• Stay within cost and budget parameters goals.
• Work with Department leads to ensure:
  • Employees are properly trained and qualified to perform their jobs.
  • Employees conform to safety, environmental, housekeeping and operational policies.
• Complete timely employee performance reviews.
• Effectively communicate the importance of employee performance, work ethic, attendance and initiate corrective actions, when necessary.

Educational Level:

• Technical degree in machining is required
• Bachelor's degree is a plus.

Previous Experience:

• proficient in Microsoft office, business ERP systems
• 8+ years of Production Machining experience a required
• 3 years of plant supervision

Physical Demands:

Generally, works in an office environment. However, the employee is frequently on the plant floor which has moderate noise level. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 40 pounds. Extended hours into 2nd shift and weekend hours may be required.
