Tool Crib Attendent

Summary / General Description:

A liaison between engineering and production, focused on reducing setup time, tool expense, and tool inventory; and maximizing earned hours throughout the facility. Keep organized and accurate records for accounting and maintain the accuracy of all controlled production documents.

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Essential Duties / Responsibilities:

• Know and understand work order process
• Understand ISO control of production documents
• Manage the purchasing and receiving to tools to minimize expense and machine downtime
• Maintain a well organized and clean tool room
• Kit all jobs in a way to help minimize production setup time
• Work with outside tool vendors on improvements as well as discrepancies
• Work closely with accounts payable to maintain an account of tools purchased.
• Participate in Engineering L10 meeting and manage rocks to improve areas of responsibility within the company.
• Check consumable and non-consumable tools in and out accurately

Educational Level:

• High School Diploma / or Equivalent

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Need to have prior experience with a formal purchasing process
• Prior experience with the tooling requirements needed to machine parts is a plus
• Computer skills required:
  • Microsoft Outlook (or other similar e-mail software)
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Word
• Prior ERP (Visual) experience is a plus
• Maintain positive working relationships with all departments and outside vendors
• Be able to read measuring equipment such as micrometers and caliper.
